Molson Canadian knows how to put on a good party and they did just that with the second annual birthday bash for the Skyreach Place in Kelowna. The beer-guzzling contest winners were almost guaranteed a great time with a line-up featuring three of Canada's finest bands: Bif Naked, Limblifter and Edwin.

Limblifter was the first band to take the stage and they smoothly played through a set of crowd-pleasing songs such as: "Tinfoil," "Count To 9" and "Wake Up To The Sun." They inspired the mass of "I am Canadian" t-shirt bearers to swing their bodies aimlessly in front of the stage. My one complaint for their set was that it was all too short. A half-hour doesn't allow a band to do much of anything.

After a long intermission that allowed the crowd to mosey on over to the beer stands and replenish themselves, Bif Naked finally took to the stage. With her amazing stage presence, wicked sense of humour and great list of songs, she was definitely the fab act of the night. Her set ended quite nicely with her cover of Twisted Sisters' "We're Not Gonna Take It," which was turned into some sort of anthem for the rowdy beer drinkers intent on re-living their grade school years.

Then there was the headliner, Edwin, who wasn't living up to his reputation. Though I'm sure the rows of star-struck females crowded against the fence would most likely disagree. It was a long set that seemed to drag on and it showed as the arena slowly drained itself of concertgoers. Sadly, the highlight of the set was when one of the audience members finally hit Edwin with a shoe. Unlike Matthew Good, he simply kicked it aside and continued the show.
